Welcome to Cork Museum.

Discover a whole social and economic system related to the extraction, transformation and sale of cork. A model of industry involving certain social and cultural patterns that boosted the area and pushed it towards capitalism. More than 3,500 objects from a technological, ethnographical, historical and artistic collection that provides a mirror for a region and how it has developed and changed.

What's to see?

Permanent exhibition

The ecology of cork. What is cork? What are its characteristics? How and when is it obtained? The film from the 1920s is particularly interesting, bearing witness to this industry's impact on the town.

Transforming cork. Devoted to the long traditional process employed to make cork tops and the effect on this industry of the introduction of machinery.

The magical tree. Cork panels and sculptures by the masters Joaquim Vicens Gironella, François Pous and Roger Conchillo.

La Taponera Choir. Enjoy recordings and the famous cork standard of this choir, founded in 1859.

Take advantage of the guided tours! They'll help you to further your knowledge and, what's more, are included in the entrance fee.
